Humans of Migration

/About

Humans of Migration (loosely based on Humans of New York) is a collaboration initiated by Mariluz Bort, Sara Faradji, Aída García, and Eileen Sellman, who are graduate students of the Fall 2014 Transnational Theory and Criticism course at the University of Maryland, College Park. It aims to explore the multiple and complex border dimensions that are often a direct result of the advent of transnationalism. In order to accomplish this, we are collecting first-hand accounts from various people who identify with the abstract concept of a transnational subject. In addition, we are incorporating literature, music, images, and geographic locations that represent real or imagined borders. By combining primary and secondary source snapshots with notable transnational theories, we hope to visually display the complexities that are involved in the process of defining the transnational.

We encourage and look forward to submissions of any kind! If you would like to contribute to, or be featured on this site, please contact us at transnationalumd@gmail.com
